What is Outlast® Tech and how is it different than wicking technologies?
Outlast® Cooling Pillows are able to proactively regulate your body temperature to reduce sweating and chilling. We know there are other products in the market claiming better comfort through moisture management but Outlast® tech is different. Wicking products are reactive in the sense that the user must sweat and become uncomfortable prior to receiving any benefit. However, proactive Outlast® technology adapts to your constantly changing temperature to reduce sweating. For example: women experiencing night sweats often benefit with Outlast® technology more than with wicking products because it prevents sweating as opposed to trying to make you comfortable after you start sweating.

How does it work?
Outlast® tech balances you temperature through the use of patented microencapsulated phase change material, called Thermocules, that absorb and store excess heat, releasing it when you need it most.

Will Outlast® technology make me warmer… or cooler?
Outlast® tech continuously adapts to your changing thermal needs. Whether the environment is cold or warm, products with Outlast® technology balance your temperature by reducing overheating and therefore perspiration. When you’re cold, the result is less chill. And, here is that warning that we shouldn't even have to put under the description, but it is meant for the occasional lady who likes to use a hibachi in bed.  For those of you who do welding in bed, for heavens sake, please remove your pillow first: 

POLYESTER FIBER IS FLAMMABLE
Do not expose this product to open flames or any other direct or indirect high temperature ignition sources such as burning operations, welding, burning cigarettes, space heaters or naked lights (the pillow manufacturer's words, not ours!).

Once ignited, polyester fiber will burn rapidly, releasing great heat and consuming oxygen at a high rate.  In an enclosed space, the resulting deficiency of oxygen will present a danger of suffocation to the occupants.  Hazardous gases released by the burning fiber can be incapacitating or fatal to human beings if inhaled in sufficient quantities.
