I had my abdominal hysterectomy, conserving my overies and an epideral (fantastic) 6 weeks ago. Wow, where has the time gone? I have been in Hysterland forever.
I am an elementary school teacher. I am 51. I live with myself and my Yorkshire Terrier. My 17 year old daughter moved to the city (one hour away) 6 months ago. I was a single mom for 16 years. I have had, for the past year and a half, a wonderful 35 year old boyfriend, a political refugee, an artist. He also lives in the city.
The first two to three weeks were great. People came and looked after me. I was doing really well. Felt very content and happy. Loved doing sexy things with my boyfriend.
Two weeks ago I started taking o.3 mg of conjugated estrogens each day. A week ago I started crying about everything and nothing. I feel rather despondent, afraid that I will not be ready mentally or physically to go back to work in January, afraid that my sex life will never be rekindled, missing my daughter, feeling like I want to make some MAJOR changes in my life and am afraid. Grieving for the loss of motherhood, a passing into another phase.
Anyone else feeling like this?
I would love to hear other's stories of remarkable recoveries or your experiences.
