How do I start my story??? It started when I was 16 and raped, the damage that was done was not found until 5 years later just before I got married. You see when I was raped I was on my period and the tampon was forced into my cervix and did some damage. The doctors figured that is what and has caused most of my problems. I went into Planned Parenthood and got my annual pap as usual and it came back CIN II, moderate dysplasia and when I consulted with my doctor it had developed to CIN III, severe displasia of the cervix and went through the biopsy (human paper hole punch if you ask me) and cryotherapy. Everything was going great I went for my last six month check up in December and she felt a mass on my right ovary---a solid mass. I was 22 just married and scared to death. I was sent to a GYN who didn't know jack about me but was the most wonderful doc I had ever met. Three days after bringing in 1994 I had my first surgery. When they opened me up through the belly ( the mass was solid so they really wanted to look around) they not only found the one grapefruit size tumor on my right ovary but four large tumors on my left. Now up to this point my husband and I had talked about not being able to have kids and was okay with it. She proceded to take my left ovary and part of my right ovary hoping that little bit would be able to function for me and hopefully I could conceive. After spending three days in the hospital I went home with a prescription for birth control pills to hopefully eliminate the tumors from coming back. These were on their way to becoming cancerous so I wanted to be careful. For the next four years I stayed on the pill intermitantly hoping to conceive but when I went off the pill cysts would form and rupture and it just hurt too much to go through that each month we tried. That brings me to August 1999, went into the ER with worst pain I had ever felt and yes once again these burgers had appeared yet again on what was left of my right ovary. She went in again and just did removal and adhesion clean up---all was well. Thought I was pregnant in January and it turned out I had four cysts and one tumor, the cysts ruptured but the tumor attatched itself to my abdomen wall. My doctor had left to join another practice and had another great doctor. Surgery in March she tried to detach the tumor and ovary from my abdomen and thought it would be okay. In the weeks following the tumor reaapered larger this time and that's when I said enough was enough. May 15, 2000 I had TAH/RSO/appendectomy. You would think my pain would be over but it isn't. But I finally figured out through this website what's wrong and I am going to fight like crazy to get it fixed. I'm positive I have major adhesions and my HRT isn't right. I have been through two colonoscopy's, a barium enema, and just recently a cystoscopy and bilateral retrograde which unsurprisngly was normal. But I am on the road to fixing myself and will take any help or suggestions you can give and I will do the same if I can.
