On Dec 12, 2000, at 7:30 am, I had surgery. My hospital stay was great, 2 days. I got up walked on my own, showered and was fine. However, one week later when I went to have my staples removed, I showed up with a list of complaints. I have been experiencing severe abdominal cramping and bleeding. The cramping is similiar to the gas, sharp and long. It is only relieved by a bowel movement which is painful. I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room. Dr. put me on Librax which is a relaxant but I haven't had any relief with that. I'm still cramping. The bleeding is to be expected she said "It's the last hurrah". I was told to eat apples, bananas, raisins and toast. She said she wasn't worried about the cramping bowel, as long as they were moving. I am though, I am the one in pain. I couldn't have my staples removed either, still not healed enough. She said It looked like I was doing too much. The only thing I did that was tiring was go with my friend to walmart and walk through the store. They said I needed to walk. I am miserable. So my report for 1 week post op is not a good one. I am happy for those of you who have not had any complications. If anyone can offer me some good old fashion advice I would appreciate it.
