Dear HysterSisters,
I have great news for you! We can make a difference!
Today, I have information about new research that could help address a problem plaguing millions of women after their hysterectomy. That problem is diminished or lack of sexual arousal.
Approximately 20 percent of adult women experience an inability to maintain sexual arousal. Female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD) occurs despite adequate focus, intensity, and duration of sexual stimulation. While other sexual dysfunctions can be associated with emotional factors, FSAD is often a physical condition; and one that may potentially be treatable.
Women who have undergone surgical procedures such as a hysterectomy are often susceptible to FSAD. These surgeries can cause changes in blood flow, which may lead to a lack of sensitivity and sexual arousal. A lack of arousal can lead to feelings of concern, disappointment, and unhappiness. In addition, many women feel that their relationships with their partners are affected.
Right now, there is a clinical study underway, specifically designed for women who have had a hysterectomy. The study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of a topically applied remedy designed to improve sexual arousal in these women.
What’s great about this study is that it focuses on us: HysterSisters. We know that HysterSisters have different health needs that must be addressed. We need to participate in appropriate research so doctors know what is really needed for our optimum health. I have a feeling this may mean good things for us, ladies!

P.S. Pass this info on to any other women who have had a hysterectomy. Its time for “all hands on deck” as new research helps our generation and the generation of women to come!
