Waiting for the bubble to burst...
Had an LAVH and needle localaztion breat biopsy Wed Dec 15 and can't believe I feel as good as I do. Haven't heard definitly on the biopsy, but Dr thought things looked good. Very few friends believe me when I tell them I'm feeling good, have very little pain and I am getting around rather well. Makes me think that sooner or later the bubble is going to burst and I will really pay.
Heard all kinds of stories before hand of how bad the recovery period would be. Did not find hystersisters until a day or two before surgery and have just spent the last hour or so looking at the website. Wednesday was pretty well lost for me, after I was taken to my room about 12:30 pm I could barely hold
my eyes open until about 8 pm,don't even remember my daughter being there, much less the journey from recovery to my room. My first walk around 5 pm was a joke, the aide and my husband had all they could do just trying to get me to keep my eyese open. Walked twice more before 10 pm - each time was better. Left the hospital for a 30 mile drive home about 12:00 pm Thurs and have been getting better with every hour. Don't really understand why my experience seems to be so much better than everyone I've talked to, other than I know there were lots of prayers said for me over the last 2 weeks. Also
think I may be one of the few in this area to have a surgeon that prefers the laproscopic procedure as most don't know what the LAVH procedure entails.
