Here is my castle story:

I woke up at 7 am to take the kiddies to school and spend more time with them. I havent ever had a surgery before so I was kinda emotional about letting go of them. I had to check in to the castle at 830am. so we got that done. I went in and was one of the only people there that early, my DH, mother, grandmother were all there. They had fun trying to braid my hair which I wanted done cuz i didnt know when I could get a shower after all this. Finally my best friend and practically sister got there and rescued my hair. My pastor was there and he said a prayer for eveyone and read a passage, about the only thing i remember from it is I AM A MOUNTAIN, which I believe that is what i kept saying in recovery LOL. My doctor came in and went over everything with my family. The first thing my mother said was my he does look like santa clause. They good drugs guy came in and said he was going to put something in my IV to relax me and then I told my mother something about pictures and that was all she wrote.
I woke up about an hr later and and didnt remember what was going on tried to bolt out of bed, felt someone stab me in the back and tummy with a knife then it HIT me it was over. I looked to my right and there was this cute guy who lovingly said not gonna do that again are ya LOL. I laid back down and tried not to laugh. The next thing I remember was being in the elevator and then my room. My family was back in there in force, my mother in law had even brought me flowers and candy.
I asked the nurse if I could get up and go pee n she reminded me I had a catheter in. MY mom said she was gonna go have a smoke n I said ME 2. so I got up and the nurse was like um lets try and walk a little here first. Believe it or not they actually took the cath out right then, n i got the lovely gauze panties n matching liner. she said big breath out n out came the cath. I then went to the bathroom YEAH wish I hadnt the whole time, MAN THAT HURT. But i had the lovely morphine pump with me so everything soon was better.
On one of my walks I decided to go out by the cafeteria to sit in the sun and read and needless to say I fell asleep and kinda burnt my nose. They were pretty lax with me on where I could go and stuff it is a small town and I actually work at the nursing home part of the hospital. One night the security guard was walking me around so I could see the night crew I usually work with which was nice.
I had to stay 3 days because my blood pressure kept dropping , I asked to change the dose of my pain meds and that helped bring it back up, I also stopped falling asleep in my food!, which made my friend very happy, she was tired of getting the crumbs out of my hair. I got a real shower on the 2nd day and it felt wonderful, LOL i used being dizzy to sneak my hubby in with me for some needed cuddle time. Hey with 4 kids u take all the breaks u can get. It took both my DH and the nurse to get all my things out, I had pretty much moved in thanx to reading everyones posts on what to take, complete with 4 extra pillows. I had lots of chocolates n flowers, but was ready to go home.
