I am 28 and last summer began having terrible pains in my side that eventually had me hunched over and unable to walk/stand. I went to my OB/GYN and he said (after numerous ultrasounds) that it was a Dermoid cyst ( one that has human characteristics such as hair and teeth!!) and he had to remove the ovary. Well I didnt feel any better after the surgery and kept calling his office complaining of the same type of pains in my lower abdomen, finally at my 6 wk. post-op checkup he did an ultrasound and found 2 cysts in my remaining ovary. So still sore and not yet recovered from the first surgery, he immediately put me back in the hospital for my total abdominal hysterectomy.
He went through the same abdominal scar that hadn't yet healed! I was given NO information other than the enticing news that I would never have to suffer through PMS or monthly periods again.
After surgery, the menopause hit me like a ton of bricks and I yelled at my husband, yelled at my mother visiting to help out with my children, and constantly chewed out my poor children! It got so bad, my mother left me high and dry the day I was released from the hospital because she couldn't handle being the brunt of my mood swings any longer!I had hot flashes contantly! and I felt like I didnt know who I was or even what I liked anymore!!Things finally got back to normal after my hormones were switched to ESTRATEST, it is a wonder-hormone for me! I have felt healthier than before my surgery!
But now I have been having terrible abdominal pains again and after being shuffled from doctor to doctor with different opinions from each one, My OB/GYN finally said it's scar tissue and gave me pain medication and said take it easy and theres really nothing that can be done to help other than taking something for pain and dealing with it!
I am so upset! My body has been through HELL!
When will my nightmare end??
