Hello...I noticed my stomach getting big...I tried to go on diets to get rid of it but it didn't work...and customers at work will say when are you expecting...I tell them I am not pregnant...I knew something had to be wrong, so I went for a pap smear...and when I had a pap smear, the doctor said there is some kind of mass...so I had to get a cat scan sceduled soon as possible...So I did, and got a cat scan and blood test and all...the results came back...and the doctor says I have a big cyst in one of my ovaries...big like I was 6 months pregnant...Noone my stomach was getting big...I had to get a hysterectomy, cuz if I didn't, that cyst would keep on growing...that wouldn't be good...I used to get real bad heart burn, urinated all the time and hemmroids...cuz the cyst was pressing on my organs...so I had to get a hysterectomy...I was very nervous about it...I was so scared...and you know what? being nervous and getting ready for a hysterectomy was very nerve racking...that is the hardest thing about having a hysterectomy...I was so worried...so when the day came to go get it done...I had to be at the hospital at 6 am...and had to check in...I kept telling the lady who was admitting me in I am so nervous...she said don't be nervous, everything will be ok...she was right...So they put me in the room where I had to put a gown on and get read to be put to sleep...but I have to say I was still nervous, that is natural...they guy who puts you to sleep gave me a shot to calm my nerves, that shot must of put me to sleep cuz I don't remember talking to the doctor who was gonna do a surgery on me...I just remembering waking up as they were wheeling me to my room...I don't remember waking up in a recovering room...when I woke up, I did not feel no pain, they must had pain pill in me...and when the pain came, they just gave me more...but the pain didn't hurt that bad...I actually don't remember it to be truthful...I only took the pain medicine 3 days and didn't feel no pain...so when you get a hysterectomy, don't worry about no pain, they have pain medicine in you...and if you start to feel any pain, tell the nurse and they will give you the pain medicine...I probably would of got out of the hospital after three days...but the medicine did got me sick to my stomach, nauseated, and throwing up for 3 days...but they gave me medicine for the nauseated...then I was gonna go out of the hospital but I had a fever of 103 degree...so I stayed two more nights...I had a bladder infection...cuz they put the catherer (can't spell) a bag where you unrinate in...I have to say the doctor told the nurse to take the catherer out so i can unrinate on my own, but I had a real hard time, I couldn't do it...so they had to put the unrinate back in me...I felt so much better...but couple days later, they had to take it out cuz I had to learn how to urnate on my own...and I finally urnated myself...I think I did it that time, cuz I didn't have the nurses waiting on me then...before I had the nurses waiting on me and it made me too nervous, I hate to have to hurry...but I went to the bath room on my own...and I had breast cancer 10 years ago so they couldn't take shots bloodtests or iv on my right arm, cuz when You have lymph nodes taken out, you can't have no kind of shots on the arm you have it taken out...so they did all the shots, blood tests iv in one arm...My poor arm just had it...I couldn't take all those shots...too bad that my other arm couldn't have shots...that would of helped...so i stayed in the hospital for 10 days...when I went out of the hospital I was out of work for 8 weeks but to be truthful, I could of went to work a week later after I got out of the hospital...cuz I felt fine...I walked and all...I didn't need no pain pills at all..and I feel better too, no more heart burns, urinate all the time and all....and I lost 15 pounds too...I had to buy new clothes and people at work noticed I lost weight...I am glad I did it now.....so to let you women know who is gonna have a hysterectomy, don't be scared...right now you are going throw the hard part now is worrying about it...if I knew what I know know how a hysterectomy was...I wouldn't be scared...So Please try not to be scared but I know that is natural to be scared...if i was gonna have another hysterectomy, I will not be scare but i had a total hysterectomy, so I can't have another hysterectomy...and the hospital was good to me, the doctors and nurses made me comforable...so I hope who ever reads this that is facing a hysterectomy, I helped by this message...
