Hi, I just happened across this web site looking for a link to Shipshawanna, Indiana. I love this site. I wish I knew of it when I had my hysterectomy 5 years ago.
I have to admit, I've never felt better since it's been done, but have had a hard time dealing with it all these years. I've always had problems from day one. My first experience with my period was a bad one. Horrible cramps, that have lasted until the day I had my hysterectomy. I was never able to have children, because of the endometriosis. It's hard to deal with at times, but now that I'm in my early 40's, I'm learning to deal with it, and there must be other plans for my life besides raising a family.
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who's spouse treated them like a broken toy they no longer wanted, and just left it in the toy box? How were you able to deal with that. I ended up getting divorced, after 15 years of marriage. I also had to take care of myself after I was sent home. I was greatful my parents drove up from Florida to care for me.
My recovery wasn't easy, my surgery was extensive. I was under for 4-1/2 hours. It took me more than the six weeks to recover. But don't let that hinder anyones thoughts of having a hysterectomy. Trust me when I say you will feel 100% better. Before my hysterectomy, I was lucky if I had 1 week out of a month were I felt good or wasn't mentrating.
