I survived my surgery and hospital stay. My surgery was 6/28. I had a great experience in the hospital. My nurses were great and took very good care of me. I came through with no complications. I used advise from this site about what to take to the hospital and it was great. My husband forgot to bring my bags to my room so the first night I couldn't see anything - Thanks! Fortunately, I was pretty out of it with the morphine so it wasn't a huge deal. I called him at 12:30 am and we talked for half an hour - my husband it pretty awesome. So, he brought my bags early day 2. They took my cath out and took my IV out and I got up - very wobbley at first. I ate breakfast, took a shower and felt like a new woman. I don't remember a lot of the first day - I had really bad back pain - my tummy was fine but my back hurt a lot. By the second day, that was over, though. Day 3 I went home after lunch. My Mom stayed with me from the 29th through the 7th. She did laundry and dishes and helped me cook and kept my 8 yr old entertained. My 3 sisters brought brunch on the 30th and I felt like a queen - it was great. I rode in a car on the 4th and it wore me out. Then on the 5th I went out for 2 hours and was completely exhausted. By the 8th, I went shopping with my husband and daughter. I paid for it that evening with some pain and just feeling uncomfortable. I'm learning that small doses of movement are much better than marathons! Anyway, so far so good. I am truly blessed!
