I began hemmoraging in January. Went to my GP and had an ultrasound that showed nothing out of the ordinary. But I had terrible cramps and bleeding for a couple of weeks. I also had a bad bladder infection in December and blood in my urine. Culture showed some abnormal cells in my urine. I went to the ob/gyn who decided it wasn't a gyn problem but a urological problem. He sent me to a urologist. After extension test, all negative, I went back to the ob/gyn. It is now late February. Bleeding is on and off but terrible pain is still there. I had to quit work because I couldn't walk or sit for any length of time. Ob/gyn still says its not a gyn problem but suggests I get second opinion. Sent me to another ob/gyn. He is great. Acknowledges my pain, and is determined to get to the cause. I also have fibromyalsia so we had to rule out that as the major cause of pain. Tried me on birth control pills - no relief. Had a second ultrasound again nothing glaring as the cause of pain. Two choices hysterectomy or medical menopause. I chose to have a supracervical laproscopic hysterectomy took ovaries also. I had that on Tuesday, May 16th. Overnight in the hospital and home on Wednesday. I feel great. Some soreness but the cramping is gone. I chose to have the ovaries removed. Doctor said it was my choice. I am 49 and had been in perimenopause for about 3 years. I have four small incisions. No outside stitches. I started having some numbness in my left upper thigh on Friday. My doctor was in surgery and that is when I found this site. I was getting nervous and then I found that it was a somewhat common occurence when I read the postings. It really helped put my mind at rest. I was thinking all kinds of crazy things. It is funny what our mind does. I can'f lift any thing heavier than a gallon of milk for a week and no housework - laundry, vacuuming for at least two. Other than that, take your time and do what you feel you can. I would recommend the LAP if you can go that way. After reading the other postings I plan on taking it slow. I have a very willing husband so I will take advantage of his willingness. God Bless you all. Thanks for letting me share.

Linda Sue
