I was post menopause when my tumor was discovered. Mine was an anemo carcinoma. My tubes had been tied 27 years before and I had no further use for the uterus or ovaries. My treatment was extreme but worked. I had 5 weeks of radiation therapy. The first week and 5th week I underwent Chemo around the clock (pump).
I later had 3 days of radioactive implants in the hospital and was told that if I had the radio implants for another 3 days 2 weeks later I surgery wouldn't be required.

I had wanted to get it out from the very beginning because I had no need for it and felt that I would feel much better about it all if I got rid of the source.

The worse part of my treatment was the 72 hours of radio active implants so I sure didn't want 72 more hours and my surgeon agreed with my decision.

When I had my surgery, there were NO cancer cells in existence and all of my lymp nodes were clear of cancer.

For me I feel I made the right decision and have been pleased with the results. I'm recouping with no problems other than some sleep issues from time to time and I take Ambien as needed for that.

When going through all of these procedures I would come online daily and look and why my other hystersisters were and had gone through and it gave me great hope and comfort to see that I wasn't alone and that HOPE was in great supply. Thank you everyone.
