Hey Y'all! I have been home since Thursday, but this is the first time I haven't had somebody fussing over me! I went in on Wednesday morning-I got there about 10 minutes late-but all was fine. I went to my pre-op room with my hubby about 7:30. My nurse came in and told me to strip it all off and put on my lovely gown! My doctor came in and talked for a few minutes with me and my hubby and said everything is good to go! Then a new nurse came in and started my I.V. She was telling me all kinds of jokes to distract me. I was pretty nervous! Then, they came in and gave me the happy shot! I don't remember anything after that until I woke up in recovery!
I was pretty nauesated when I woke up so they gave me phenergen in my I.V. I got moved to my room about 30 minutes after I woke up. My doctor came in with my hubby and told me everything went great. The surgery lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes. My doctor said everyone in the O.R. was talking about how well it went! I was pretty out of it all day. My mom and kids came up to see me and that made me miss home so I started crying. I was all keyed up so I didn't sleep at all that night. I paced the halls, talked to the nurses and made myself coffee! My doc came by in the morning and wasn't to impressed with my pain levels, but he let me go home. I showered, shaved my legs and got dressed. I was ready! I have had some discomfort on my right side, but the pain pills make it all go away! The only thing I really have left to do is sleep in my own bed. The recliner is the only place I can sleep! My doctor changed my post-op to tomorrow(it was 2-19-07)so I go in the morning to make sure all is well!
I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to the other side! This forum is amazing! Best of luck to you all! Elizabeth
