hello sisters!
i am 36, married with no children. my husband and i tried for a year to get preg. and finally did. during my second month of pregngncy i had much lower abdominal pain. everytime i went to the gyn. he did an ultrasound and everything appeared to be normal. you could see the baby and everything. these pain attacks went on for a total of 3 weeks. one night the pain attack was different. i couldn't breath and was sweaty and dizzy. i tried drinking tea and that of course didn't help. finally i told my husband that we better go to the hospital. while in the e.r. the e.r. doctor ordered all kinds of blood work. he didn't do an exam or an ultrasound or anything. when the results from the blood work came back he told me that i was very anemic. he called my ob gyn. and they decided to send me home and told me to take iron pills. the e.r. doctor told me that i didn't show signs of any internal bleeding. well...9:00 the next morning my ob gyn told me to come in because he had a sonographer in the office and they wanted to see what was causing all this pain. so...the sonographer did her thing and she couldn't see anything but liquid. she told the dr. to make "that call" (to the hospital). at that point he told me to get right over to the hospital e.r. and he would meet me there, he had to do an emergency surgery for what could be a tubal preg. or ruptured cyste. well it ended up that it was a tubal preg. but it was near the opening to the uterus. needless to say..my tube ruptured as did my uterus. he couldn't stop the bleeding so i ended up having to have a hyst. leaving one ovary and cervix. i lost alot of blood and needed to have a transfusion. it has been 6 weeks and i'm on my way to recovery. it has been very rough up untill now. i had and still have some emotional issues to deal with. the loss of the baby, the loss of my ability to have babies. physically it was very rough in the first weeks at home. my arms and legs hurt so bad for some reason. i can understand the legs because all those tendons and nerves are connected to where they did my lovely bikini cut from the surgery, but i'm having trouble with the arms. maybe because i lost alot of weight too fast or because of the blood loss. ??? doctors don't really have an answer. it is getting better though. as far as the incision goes, it only hurts now if something presses up against it. i took percocet, zydone, and aspirin for pain and it seemed to help alot. i did and still do experience breast pain. probably because i was pregnant and now i'm not. i still have one ovary so i'm told that i won't need hormone therapy. i'm just wondering if the ovary kicked in yet...is that a reason my breasts still hurt? i have to find a new gyn. and ask them all these wonderful questions. my husband and i have just started getting back to our "regular activities" but it seems sort of weird. i was afraid at first. i didn't know how things were gonna work or if i would feel pain. there was a little pain i guess from the pressure. (?) i'm sure though that things can only get better!!!
