Hello...My name is Lindsey. I'm 20 years old and I live in Portland, OR. I live with my boyfriend, roommate, and our wonderful dog. Well...where do I begin. First of all, I got pregnant at the age of 16. I was 4 1/2 months when I lost the baby. This already was hard for me. From that point on I've had so many gynecological issues. In October of 2004 all of a sudden I didn't have my period. Assuming I was pregnant I went to the doc. April 27, 2005 (my mom's 41st birthday) and several procedures later the Dr gave me the devastating news. It was a tumor that developed in my uterus that was setting off the HCG hormones. Luckily it hadn't spread anywhere else in my body. It was just contained to my uterus. The bad thing was that the only cure was to get a hysterectomy. Not only did I get a second opinion, but a third. I wanted to make sure this was the ONLY option I had. Unfortunately May 16 2005 I had a partial hysterectomy. Thankfully, I still have my ovaries so I don't have to go through the menopause symptoms. The doctors told me one day if I wanted I could have children through a surrogate or adoption. It's still hard for me though. I've always wanted to experience the whole pregnancy thing and I'll never get to.....Time doesn't make it hurt less, but it makes things easier to deal with. I thought I was the only one who went thru this at a young age.
