Hi,
I had my surgery on Thursday around noon and I got home from the hospital this morning and I'm pleasantly surprised by how well I'm feeling. I set up my recovery area using all the good advice from this forum, especially the grabber and putting my clothes on easy to reach shelves.
My favorite ideas from this wonderful website:
I used the guided imagry and the positive affirmations tape for surgery and it really helped me relax before and after surgery. I believe it is helping my body focus on healing as well. My hospital offered reiki massage and I felt measurably better after I had that yesterday.
I brought t-shirts, bra, light sweats and the recommended granny underwear - I felt much better walking the halls in my own clothes. I followed everyone's advice to walk and I think that helped. My suggestion would be to buy good supportive slip in sneakers, it makes the walking better and easier. I did not feel well the day of surgery but the next day I felt better and better as the day progressed.
