Lets see... where to begin. Shortly after my first daughter was born,at age 18, I recieved a Norplant for birth control. Within a couple months I was getting cysts on my overies. I was hospitalized several times for ruptured cysts and finally had surgery to remove a couple cysts and ended up with a LSO(6/93). At that time they also diagnosed me with endometreosis. I had a long recovery because I had "the big cut". Six months later I had a Lap.(1/94) for more cysts and to remove scar tissue and adhesions. I was on Depo shots weekley this whole time to help shrink the cystys because I did not tollerate oral hormones. It took me a year and a half to get pregnant with my second daughter. I always had heavy painful periods, I just thought it was normal. I thought I was a baby because none of my friends complained of bad periods (which included sevear pain, heavy flow and nausea) After the birth of my second daughter, the pain increased. I went to my gyn. and he suggested a hysto. NO way, that was not for me. I wanted a third child. I got pregnant with my son, and had a complicated pregnancy with him. Lots of unexplained bleeding, and pre term labor ay 31 weeks. After delivery, I had complications with my uterus not contracting down, and had to be put on Meds to do that at 4 weeks post pardom. After my son my periods were every 12-14 days, lasting for 10 to 14 days, it was awful! This went on for two years. In that time I had my gallbladder removed (11/99)because it was functioning at 7%. In Dec. of 2000, I ended up back at the gyns. office for sevear pain from my remaining overy. He said it was another cyst the size if a baseball. He put me on hormones to shrink it but that did not work. I decided to finally have a hysto. after 2 1/2 months of non stop bleeding. My hysto was 2/7/01. I had a vaginal hysto. and anterier repair that hemmoraged in recovery and I ended up back in the OR. The pathology report indicated that I hadendo/ adnomyosis. I spent 5 days in the hospital. Now 5 months post op. I am not feeling much better. Because My histo. was done vaginally, my gyn, said he was unable to get all the endo. Now I am on Lupron shots to try and help shrink any endo sites left active by my functioning overy. If this does not work in 6 months I will be back in the OR to remove my remaining overy and endo implants. I pray that this will work, I want my life back. I want to be pain free!!
