Okay, have a bit of time before the pain meds kick in again so here goes:
Got to the palace at 6:20 and had to wait about 10 minutes then was called back and immediately had to change into a hospital gown (I took every-ones advice and wore a sleeveless/strapless brown summer dress, very very roomy, old ladies drawers, (white and clean (grin) white ankle socks and white ballerina type slippers.
I got hospital gown to wear, backwards and not tied or anything, brown no skid socks, a blue mesh cap, no undies and the coolest part ~ a toasty warm blankie.
My friend had my purse with my watch and cross in it and big bag with night gown etc was in the trunk of her car.
A TON of paperwork to be signed and then one of the nurses shave me down there, she used an electric shaver so no water or foam or anything.
Three wrist bands were put on me, one telling all and sundry I am sensitive to Vicodin, one with my name, birth date, etc, and one with the surgery and information.
A bit of confusion came about as they kept telling me my Dr's partner would be speaking to me in a bit (never met the man and he was not working om me) that was soon cleared up though. My Dr. cam e and spoke to me, answered all my questions and asked me a few, then vowed to tell me if I said anything stupid during the surgery (grins) and left saying he would see me in a bit.
The next person to come in was the anesthesiologist (I simply cannot take my friend anywhere, they let her come back with me shortly after I had changes and kept saying "he's cute" "oh how about him?" about every single male who even came close.
Okay here's where I got upset and embarrassed, the anesthesiologist had me open my mouth and say ah ( my teeth are not in the best of shape and yes I am going to have them taken care of soon). I did and quickly wanted o die of embarrassment as his words were along the lines of "What the hell is wrong with your teeth? Your teeth are the worst I have ever seen and if the metal tube I have to insert chips a tooth it's not my fault but really with all the chips you have you'll never be able to tell." My friend told him to go away, asked a nurse to call my Dr. and when he came she asked for another anesthesiologist and explained why as I just laid there with my lips clamped shut and my face flaming red. He was extremely upset and said there wasn't time to get another one but went out and literally dragged the man back in and made him apologize which made me feel a heck of a lot better as it was not the anesthesiologists turn to turn red in the face. (The little twerp LOL) my Dr. also apologized profusely and said a report would be made.
Okay meds kicking in so will pick this up tomorrow ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) and god bless and keep you all.
