Back story: Last summer, I had some strange bleeding during my periods. DH finally talked me into going to get checked out. I do it yearly but I was late. Anyway, the PAP came back with abnormal glandular cells. Had a colposcopy which came back negative. Re-PAP in a few months. That one came back abnormal glandular cells too!!! So now I get to see the GYN Oncologist...scared me to death! He recommends a LEEP and D&C. OK, had that done and the pathology comes back with cancer...adenocarcinoma. RAH was scheduled!
So I had the surgery on 7-15. I was quite nervous but felt I was in capable hands. The surgery took almost three hours. Came to in Recovery and felt a good bit of pain. It didn't seem to subside so I figured it was from all the gas. I didn't pass any gas until the third day and boy was I relieved!!!!!! I didn't get to go home as quickly as I would've liked. I had some nausea so they kept me an extra night. The narcotics just didn't agree with me.
I am basically off pain meds now. I only take them when I really feel I need them and its just regular Mortin. Its been a pretty smooth recovery so far except for the catheter they made me come home with. I luckily will be getting that removed this Wed along with my staples. They sent me home with it to keep my bladder from working. The doc said that since he had to remove some lymph nodes, he had to cut some nerves to my bladder.
