Hi girls, I have a long history of endometriosis. Last year, I underwent fertility treatments to get pregnant. I used some pretty tough hormones and in turn my endo flared up OUT OF CONTROL. I had a laproscopy (my 3rd one) prior to my treatments and the endo wasnt too bad. Anyways, about a month ago I went to see my ob/gyn because I was in ALOT of pain. When looking at my ultrasound they saw what they believed to be an endometrioma. After years of dealing with this, I elected to have the hysterectomy. I found the best surgeon and we agreed to move forward. My date was Sep 24. The day of the surgery I asked my doc to save my right ovary. He said it was against his better judgement but that he would do it if it was healthy. Well when he got in there, there was ANOTHER endometrioma on the RIGHT ovary. It hadnt been there on the ultrasound and now it was bigger than my uterus. So the surgery ended up taking everything out. I got a shot of depo provera and so far, no menopause symptoms. Doc said no HRT for 6-9 months.

My recovery has been VERY easy so far. I am less than 2 weeks out and my doc has cleared me to go back to work. I feel better than I have felt in YEARS. Living with the constant pain was my "normal" life before. Anyways, I have ALWAYS recovered quickly so I dont want to give anyone false hope. Typcially I have had my laproscopies on Friday and am back to work on Monday. I am not the NORMAL situation. But, I am PROOF that everyone heals differently. Listen to your body!
