Hi all. I'm 6 days out of a laproscopic vaginally assisted hysterectomy and I feel great. I'm only 31 years old but I've indured heavy bleeding and cramps sense the first day I started my period at age 12. Since my second child( 13 years ago ) I had been in pain. Each year it got worst and worst. It felt as though I was carrying around a bowling ball somewhere in between my vagina and my butt. SORRY!! But that's how it felt. In the mist of those 13 years I've had a laproscopic exploratory surgery, where they thought I'd might have endo. I didn't. After MRI's, ultrasounds, and a diagnosis of Interstitial Cystitis I knew something else was going on.
Sometimes I'd think an alien was just going to come busting out of my stomach the pain and fullness was so severe. My uterus was so prolapsed and retroverted back toward my rectum that it was hard to produce a bowel movement. When I started to have to go in there and get it out I knew that I couldn't live like that anymore. Now I don't have to.
After the operation the Dr. said I had adenomyosis and my uterus was quite large, yet very soft. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't have those pains anymore I would say that I don't even feel like I've had an operation. My stomach is a bit swollen but it doesn't hurt. My incisions are the smallest things and he cut me right inside my naval and a small cut at my old c-section . That cesearan I had 13 years ago was way worst than this. Even that toothache 2 summers ago could give this a run for its money. Wish I could have done this a long time ago but being young isn't always an advantage. In this case it delayed something that I am SOOO happy is over now. SO HOW ABOUT THAT ALWAYS PAD COMPANY
And oh yea that thing about showing how good you're doing after surgery can get you in lots of trouble. I'm six days out and my moms leaving tomorrow so it'll just be me and the kids for the next five weeks. Guess what my house is going to look like. So take it from me FAKE IT you need the help!
