Hi Everyone! I'm new here, but so desperately wanted to share my own experiences with someone who cares. I share this with you not to scare you, but to shed some light on certain things Dr.'s don't know and can't tell you....

A few yrs. had gone by since having my son Zach and my tubal on the same day. My son Zach is 9yrs now. Ever since then my bleeding had gotten really bad. The last 1yr 1/2 I experienced massive amts. of blood loss and Pain. Went to the Dr. and he suggested go to a gynacologist. I did, next thing I knew I was signed up for surgery. I am 36, bleeding to death and scared half out of my wits at this point. I had my surgery April 16 of 2001. I will never forget that date as long as I live. First of all, my blood level was at an 8, shouldve been at an 11-12, went down to 5 during surgery, but still no blood transfusion, I almost Bled out, as they would call it. Surgery went fine I guess, 2 day stay in the hospital and went home. I was feeling very sick at home, nautious, couldn't have a bowel movement or anything. Went back to the Doctor 5 days later when something felt wrong. Apparently, while during the surgery, they paralyzed my bowels and didnt fix them, so I had a bowel blockage which almost cost me my life. I spent the next week in the hospital throwing up everything. THey kept putting me on all kinds of drugs. I finally refused all meds and started to feel a bit better, no help from them thankyou. I went home. A few days had gone by, my hand starts to hurt where the IV was. I have bumps under my skin from the IV's. Went to see my doctor because my hand started to itch unmercifully, he told me to put a hot pack on it, i did. Well, 2 days later, I noticed my hand swelled to the size of a boxing glove, boy was I scared. I went to the Emergency room with my husband and they admitted me after 3 hrs of waiting, not to mention I had a fever of 101.5 with this. Come to find out after several tests and an ultrasound on my hand and arm, I had a huge blood clot in my arm from all of the IV's. I stayed in the hospital for yet another week. Ladies, 3 weeks total I endured from all of the complications unbeknownst to me and the doctors. They had to give me antiobiotics, but they weren't working orally, so they tried shots, nuh uh. Then, they thought, well we will have to put another IV in her arm for the antiobiotics and leave it there for 10 days. THey couldnt get it past my veins, by the time they were done, I looked like a Drug Junkie, track marks everywhere. Finally, they did a SUB-CLavical IV in my chest and inserted it there for 10 days, so i walked around with a machine for 10days and nights. I was finally cured after that. I just wanted to share this with you because It was at most, the worst thing I have ever endured thus far in my life. I just had a vaginal hyst. (uterus only) and what I thought and was told would be a simple procedure turned into the biggest nightmare of my life. I'm still upset by all of this, just came back from the dr.s today, have to be on Estrogen now. My hormones have gone through the roof and back again. I hope this helps someone, somewhere. If it doesnt feel right, yell at someone until it does, after all it's not their bodies being put through all of this. Thanks for listening.
