...Pre-op anticipation was the worst-
...Pre-op bowel prep wasn't pleasant-
...Day of Surgery- 12 PM just post op-groggy and sore.
...Day of Surgery 11PM stopped IV pain med-not enough pain to warrant the narcotic.
....1st day post op- STARVING- Clear liquid diet, a little sore but really not enough to warrant pain med by mouth
....1st day post op, on the road to recovery, got up and walked a little. Everyone seemed to be preoccupied with my ability to pass gas "blush". I started really beefing for REAL food to gather strength and move things along. They fed me more than jello, finally Also hated being so confined by the catherer.
....2nd day post, passed gas, catherer out, was walking, no pain meds AT ALL! Was eating so I went home.....yes!!!!!
....3rd day post op-I'm bored!!! relaxing and writing to you all right now.
For me, this surgery was a no-brainer. I was 49, decent health otherwise, just post-menopausal with lots of family and personal history of cancer-my mother was a rare ovarian cancer survivor and I was a DES offspring with prior, early detected, cervical dysplasia. Currently (just prior to surgery) I had a benign cervical cyst, endometrial hyperplasia.
