Hello -
I had heavy bleeding for years. I didn't know it was heavy, just thought it was normal. I became anemic and toward the ends I would go through several pads and tampons in an hour.
Removed the uterus vaginally, and kept the ovaries. When i returned to work, people said I had color in my face. My report of my uterus indicated that something funky was starting to form, but my cells were not atypical yet. So my doctor said this was a blessing in disguise. Today I feel great, this was the best decision for me. I still get PMS as I did before. I lost weight during this time and kept it off. No super dooper exercising, just changed what I eat.
Also during my recovery, things went well. As recommended I didn't push myself during recovery. You do need to take it easy, this is your one time to heal...if you over do it you can harm yourself. I didn't have a supportive husband, my kids helped out minimally. So some things around the house didnt' get done during my recovery. That was hard... but I let it go. I knew I had to take care of myself.
