I had the Davinci surgery on 5/21 after diagnosis of complex hyperplasia with atypia from my last D+C after bleeding for 1.5 years daily. My doctors told me that I had a precancerous condition but that the odds were 40% that I already had cancer. I had the Davinci procedure because that was what the group of gyn/oncologists who reviewed my tests, pathology reports, several ultra sounds, and abdominal cat scan recommended. A lymph node disection was done to see if there was cancer in the lymph nodes.

Surgery was uneventful and I was up walking later that day. Pain was always manageable. I have had bladder spasms that immediately resolve by urinating. I have run a low grade fever since returning home. The doctor says this is due to inflamation. Even though I am 5 years past menopause I still have hot flushes since the surgery.
The surgical incisions were glued together and are healing nicely. I still have numbness on my left thigh, lower abdomen and genitals. The doctor says that this is the result of the nerve being " twanged" during the lymph node
removal. She says it may take 3-4 months to recover!
It took 12 days to get the pathology report.... NO CANCER!

These results have given me a new lease on life, as I have been living under the shadow of cancer for months since the last patholgy report.

I have followed the recomendations of the hystersisters as to activity level and bowel issues. I have found this information very useful. I had prepared 2 weeks of entrees in the freezer to make life easier for my husband and son. That worked out well.
I have stayed close to home, except to attend church x2, and go out to eat 2X. A friend brought me a bird feeder and we set it up where I could see it from the recliner where I have slept and rested since surgery. This was one of the best gifts I could imagine. I have recently been able to read novels again. The temperature and the discomfort had made it difficult to concentrate. I have also worked on culling photographs on the computer for a friend. This can be done little bits at a time.
I plan to go back to work the end of the month if all goes well.
Good luck to all of you with your procedures. For me this was the right decicion.
