I am currently 2 weeks, 2 days post op. I don't even feel like I have had surgery and have to remind myself to take it easy. My surgery experience was great, the main discomfort post op was the catheter, once it was removed the morning following surgery, I was able to get out of the bed easily and had no problem with urination, I was sent home with pain pills and ibuprofen. The first night I took a pain pill at bed time just in case I started hurting during the night, the only problem was bad dreams from the pain pill, after that I haven't needed anything for pain. I spent the first week in the recliner with laptop, cold drink, remote and yorkie with no problems other than boredom. Day 5 I got in the pool (only on a float) the people at work don't believe I have had surgery they are sure I have been at the beach. I went back to work (desk job) 2 weeks post op for half days and still feel great, a hormone patch was placed on me at the hospital and I haven't experienced any problems with the hormones. I know everyone has different issues and different levels of pain tolerence, but for me the DaVinci robotic hysterectomy has been wonderful, I don't know why anyone would have a hysterectomy by any other method.
