Laproscopic is THE WAY!!! A Happy Experience.

I had a total hysterectomy (uterus and cervix) plus ovarian cyst removal on Thurs June 18, 2009. I had no idea how easy it would be by having it done laproscopically. I want others to consider this option because the down time was only about 8 days. Only 3 small incisions. No PAIN AT ALL!!! My biggest discomfort was constipation from the anesthetic. I used no pain meds even though I had them available because I did no need or want them. I am an advocate for laproscopic hysterectomy's and want other women to know that a hysterectomy can be a painless procedure with minimum recovery. Having it done any other way is really of the 19th and 20th centuries. After doing my research before my surgery, all I read were posts of pain, discomfort, and just very sad experiences. My story is a happy story. I went through a website which provides great information. If your doctor does not perform laproscopic hysterectomy, go to another doctor that does if for nothing else but a 2nd opinion. Come on ladies, this does not have to be a dreaded awful experience.
