My name is Lauren Collins and I am a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Endocrine department at Boston Medical Center. The Endocrinology department studies hormones and how they work in the human body.
Currently we are working on a research study in women that looks at the hormones testosterone and estrogen. Testosterone is a hormone normally produced by a woman’s ovaries and affects many things including sexual function, mood, energy level, muscle size and strength, and how a person thinks. Testosterone may also positively affect the amount of fat distributed in the body.
This study is for women who are ages 21-60 who have had their uterus removed. This research examines how testosterone in combination with estrogen affects a woman's mind and body.
If this sounds interesting and you would like to learn more, please give me a call and I can answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Lauren Collins, NP
