I have had bowel problems for years never thought it had anything to do with
my fibriods. I was first diagnosed with fibroid tumors 4years ago. I have had heavy bleeding for the last 6 years. I didn't even realise of was heavy bleeding until I read an article in a Womens mag. I had gotten used to 2 super plus tampons and one pad, changing them everyhour, sleeping on towels ect and my period lasting for 6 days or more. I treated my fibroids with products from my Naturalpath for the last 5 years. In June of 2008 I began to have severe bloating and trouble digesting my food. I thought it was stomach issues and used various natural ways to to try to stop the bloating Thonhs that had worked before no longer worked. By Jan 2008 I had an ultrasound and the Dr said my uterus was the size of 6 month pregnancy. The fibriods had grown. 3 Drs over the next 2 months told me I needed an abdominal hyster. By Sept 8th the day of the surgery I had gone from a size X underwear to a 3x! I was appalled. My uterus was now the size of a basketball. During my research I discovered I am estrogen dominant and progrstrone deficiant. See Dr. John Lee multiple books What your Dr. May not tell you about Premenopause and ..............not tell you about menopause. Also any of christine Northrups (as seen on oprah)
I have all of the symptoms including hair loss on my head.
Surgery went well both ovaries were saved even though I have a cyst on one I will find out more at my 6 week check up. Pain was kept down. My anatheiologist treated me for pain while I was in the hospital. No blood at all unti
day 6. Started to spot then flow. I had back pain opposite my navel and slot of pain in incision. I went to see my surgeon and she said she told me in the hospital that 7-10days after surgery some patients start to bleed. Appartamtly the is a bacteria in the vagina that may start an infection after an abdominal hyster. By the time I left her office I had fever blisters all over my lips. She gave me 2 differant types of antibiotics and I started to feel better at once. Pain is gone in my back and much decreased in incision area. I have never heard about bacteria in the vagina
That is my story. I had some idea that the AH would me like my c-section -WRONG!! I don't regreat doing it. After years of doing the natural thing sometimes surgery IS the answer. I will get through this!! Goodluck to you all.
