I had noticed that I was feeling 'pregnant'. Abdomen enlarged, Pelvic congestion and constipation. My Dr. checked me out and discovered that my uterus was enlarged. Sent to Gyne Surgeon and today is history. I am now 4 days post op. I am so glad I had this done. I have 4 small dressings on my abdomen where the instruments were inserted.
I did throw up every time I moved talked etc. for the first 15 hours out of recovery. It was a combination of anaesetic, Morphine, my bowels being tossed about and blood loss.
They gave me antiemetics but that didn't stop the nausea and throwing up.. They wouldn’t let me go home so I went up to the ward. They kept giving me maxeran and then gravol IV. And gave me Tylenol 3’s and suppository naproxen. I actually could eat a couple nibbles and drank water. The nausea seemed to leave. Started doing my 'laps' down the hall to get the gas moving. Discharged on Day Two Post Op. Finally passing 'gas' with some cramps traveling down the 'line'. No BM yet. Went outside and walked slowly down the street with my DH. Trying to wean off T3's and Naproxen 500mg twice a day. I am drinking about 4 -750ml sized water bottles daily with gingerale, jello, prune juice and tea. The only solids I have had are some nibbles. When I tried to eat a piece of meat and some apple sauce, I felt like I had dumped a rock into my gut.
Pain is not bad and I am trying to get lots of rest. Rest seems to be the key to feeling good.
Hystersisters has helped me be prepared,
Thank you
