I had waited for this for so long and it was hard to beleive that the time had finally come. I had not pannicked and had felt comfortable with my decision to have the surgery. WEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLL The Sunday before my surgery I felt sick to my stomach. I was sure I had the flu and they were going to cancel. I spent a good part of the wee mornings on line with other hystersisters. The morning came and we sent my girls off to the sitters and hubby and mom drove me to the castle 45 minutes away.

As soon as we got to the hospital everything happened quickly. Before long I was in a gown and had my gorgeous slippers on. I had my period so they gave me a pair of their undies and a pad or at least that is what I think it was supposed to be Well I am a tall girl 5"10. Those undies were ridiculous, they covered maybe half my butt. Hubby and my mom laughed for what seemed like a really long annoying time. I told the nurse I was feeling sick to my stomach. She talked to the anesth and he gave me a valium. Much better. Finally off to the waiting room where hubby and mom could not come. We said good bye and off I went. Only to find out I was being delayed as an emergency C section had to be done. The dr and aneth came in several times to see how I was doing. The nurse gave me a current People magazine to look at. Finally off to the Or and onto the very small operating table. The room was freezing. Before I knew it I was out.

I woke up in what seemed to be a minute. I was in alot of pain. The nurse quickly hooked me up to my demerol pump and said I would be fine in a momment. Meanwhile the lady next to me kept screaming and yelling it was awful. I just wanted her to shut up. I was still in so much pain I thought why did I do this. This is awful. The nurse came back to see me and I told her how I was feeling. She said there was no way I could be in that much pain. She checked me out and found that my pump was BROKEN!!!!!!!!!. She quickly yelled for a new one and told the lady beside me to be quiet.Thank You!!!!!!! Once the new pump was put in place I felt so much better.Drugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I went to my room my mom and husband were there. I slept most of the rest of the day. I had a room to myself that evening. The next day the cathetor came out and I had quite the time trying to get the peerer to work. Finally it did. I got up and walked. I also had no problem passing I was so very proud of myself. The rest of the stay was pleasant. My roommate was wonderful and I progressed quite quickly. Though each night I had a small fever which went away in the morning. I went home on the Thursday with my mom. The only thing that happened there was we stopped at a pharmacy to get my prescription filled before heading home . I have one of those huge Astro Vans which my mom was driving. Well she miss judged the curb and you got it, Up and Over we went. Man that hurt. It hurt even more because we both could not stop laughing.

My recovery has been awesome. I cannot wait until I can do everything again.I am looking forward to no more bleeding, pads or tampons.

Would I do it again.YOU BETCHA!

Take care
