Well hi to all the angels out there. I am now 5 days post op and feeling like I am on a cloud. My story started when I first started my periods at 12 yrs old. By thirteen my doc had me on the pill to help relieve unbareable pain. I was sick for days at a time and the pain actually was making me ill. The pill did help some but was in and out of hospital yearly starting about fourteen for ovarian cysts which doc wouldn't reconize telling my mother it was all in my head or I was trying to get attention. I had two daughters which in the two times experienced pain from my side the right side where all my cysts have been. Again docs said they had no idea until I ended up in hosp. with what they thought appendicitus. But actually was a cysts the size of a small orange on my right ovary which had ruptured. That was in 95. I continued to experience cysts and ended up not being able to take the pill due to severe side effects. So again the pain became worse.

In 98 I have my tubes tied praying then that the doc would find something and I could be rid of all this pain. I even asked it a hyster was an option he said absolutly not I was way too young. By then I was 25 almost 26. I was devastated and after goin through a terrible recovery from that. Doc neglected to tell me he also found severe scar tissue on right ovary pinning it back to my bowel and I ended up have internal bleeding was on my back for two months and completely depressed and the painful period got incresingly severe. Not doc wanted to help basically calling me a whimp. Until this Jan. I started bleeding excessivly and I always bled heavy from the get go but this was ridiculous. This time I demanded not asked to be seen by a gyno and do something.

As soon as I did in June of this year he took one look at my file which by now is extremly thick and said that if I wanted to chose I could have a hyster! I actully cried in his office from relief. He said than now at 29yrs of age I had been through enough and that he wouldn't bother messing around with alternatives if I decided without doubt I was sure it was what I wanted all I had to do was say the word. Years of pain, depression, and disappointment came out. Of course I said yes. Which leads us today to me recovering and loving it.

I had a total vaginal hysterectomy leaving ovaries. Including cervix. My surgery went without a hitch and I was up and moving after the terrible pain medication and IV stopped. By Wednesday I was practically pain free with the exception of a little gas.

For anyone who is condsidering this it is a huge decision and not to be taken lightly. Get as much info as you can. Be determinded and don't allow docs to put you off. It was the best thing to ever happen to me and I thank God for my blessings. May God bless all of you and be with you always. That if my story. I am now a very happy and healthy for the first time princess. The women in here are angels and will help to talk to them.
