My trip to the castle started at 11:30am on Monday Sept. 24th. I arrived with dh and yes the nerves were screaming. :confuse:

took me right back gave me my gown and the cute little elf looking slippers. got dressed, answered a million and one questions for 2 different nurses and then was told to RELAX and they would be back soon to take me to OR. dh was trying to get me to relax and to make me laugh. I started crying and told him I wanted to go home now... of course, he laughed at me and said no way. finally taken to OR and told the same thing, he laughed too. MEN???? Antesthesia guy came in and started making jokes about starting without him....NO WAY.... Drugs solved everything.

I woke up in recovery and was taken to my room about 5pm. no problems so far but kept feeling like I had to pee. I had a catheter and nurses kept checking and saying no problem. Used morpheine pump a lot 1st night, kept throwing up. about 5am next morning I told nurse my bladder was so full I felt like I could float up to the ceiling on it....she laughed of course until she checked my output and then she got worried. some type of minor??? problem with bulb of catheter and then relief at last.....

It turned out the Morpheine was making me throw up (I had never had it before). I felt much better a few hours after they took me off that and gave me some percocet by mouth. I began eating, moving around and yes passing gas. Dr came in next day and asked if I was finallly ready to go home. Silly question cause by that time I was more than ready.

Since I have been home I have felt good, no real problems so far. I am being careful to rest, drink plenty of fluids, don't over do, etc. as per instructions of dr, dh and everyone here.

I had heavy bleeding and painful cramps for several years due to fibroids and ovarian cysts. I am hard headed and it took a while for me to make this decision, but I am glad I finally did it.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and support.

Kathy (Minniek1018)
