Hi All!!
Well it's over, and I am stunned by the fact that I feel so well.
It all started on Tuesday a.m. I was told to arrive at 6:30a.m. for my 9a.m. surgery. I checked in, answered all the nurses questions and was sent to a holding room to wait my turn. At 7:10a.m. a nurse came to get me and said it was time to go, I asked him where are we going-he looked at me as if I was nuts and said it was time for my surgery!! WHAT?!?!?!?! my surgery was not until 9a.m. to which he informed me that my surgery was at 7:20a.m. and that they were all set and ready to go! OH MY GOSH!!!!!
So off we go to the O.R. (in hindsight it was a blessing not to have to sit and worry for 2 hours) My I.V. was started, my spinal was put in place (LOVED THE SPINAL!!!!) and the next thing I remember was waking up in recovery.
It's over, I'm alive and in no pain!! The freezing wore off within an hour and then I was off to my room. I was given Moriphine during my surgery and started to become very itchy, was given Benadryl twice which made me drowsy. I still had no pain, just mild cramping.
Day 2 arrived with still no pain, only cramping and a slight backache. My Dr. could not believe that I had no pain (I had a tvh with anterior and posterior repairs and had my right ovary removed because he found a spot on it) My I.V. came out early afternoon but my catheter had to stay in for 48 hours. I was troubled by but after peppermint tea that too passed!!
Day 3, catheter was removed at 5a.m. I was able to pee on my own and was released at 10a.m.!!
I have instruction from not to lift anything and to rest for 6 weeks. I feel really well, still pain free! (mild cramping) and am glad to be home.
I plan on drinking lots, resting lots and praying that I stay infection and pain free!!
I am so glad it's over, waiting really is the worst part of it. And am S0 grateful that my prayers for a easy surgery were answered!!
God is Good!!!!
Dianne
