Had surgery on Monday, Da Vinci, total, she removed my uterus, cervix, fibroids and released some adhesions. I had my cathader removed immediately. They wanted it left in, but it was very painful and I wanted it out. So, I had to start getting up and trying to use the restroom fairly quickly. The pain has been severe. They gave me an ab binder the day after surgery to help and while it helps with taking away the feeling that everything is about to fall out, it rubs against the incisions which is painful. Yes, I am whining and quite hormonal. I am still in alot of pain only sleeping a few hours at a time. I felt far better in the hospital than I do at home. I am very swollen and the incisions are very painful. I am spotting which I was told would happen. Basically, if this procedure is far better and less painful than the other options, I am fearful of what the others would have been like! The gas that is trapped is bad. There is gas trapped in my shoulder which is also very painful. The worst part is getting the pain under control and keeping it there. I am trying not to do too much, but my support system has gone in the toilet. I don't have the support at home that I thought I was going to have. So with the stress of feeling like I have no support and the pain I can't get control of, I am a mess. Long term I bet this will be the best thing I have ever done and from a medical standpoint everyone recommends the Da Vinci over all other options...so please don't listen to my whining...I am sure my post tomorrow will be much more positive like many I have read on this site. I love hystersisters and am so thankful that I have found the site and will post again tomorrow Overall, I am home, I am healthy and am hopeful that things will be better tomorrow.
