Ask A Doctor

Hey Ladies,
My name is Tamika and I wanted to come back and tell my story because this is what I needed when I came to this site.
Like I said my name is Tamika and I am 25 I have 5 children and a husband that I have been with for almost 8 yrs.
After me and my hubby had our daughter we decided that we wanted no more children so I consulted with my doctor and we decided that we were going to go with adiana (its sorta like Essure) Just before we scheduled for that I found out that I had pre cancerous cells so when we scheduled for my adiana we scheduled to do the L.E.E.P I got that done in the hospital october 2009 they put me to sleep because I have a high uterus and its really hard for them to get to my cervix. Soon after that I started to experience heavy bleeding and very painful periods that lasted 10 days or more I talked to my doctor about it 3 months later on my adiana check up and she told me that she think that I should try uterine ablation we then scheduled for me to get that done may 20th 2010 they also put me to sleep for that. Well after Ablation I can say that things ever got better I continued to bleed heavy with giant painful clots I went in for my follow up and my doc was not happy with what she seen so she told me that the best thing that we can do is get a Hysterectomy my heart fell outta my chest because I couldnt believe that at my age that I was going to have my uterus removed I seen another doc for a second opinion and I got the same answer that I could try ablation again or get a Hysterectomy. So I scheduled for my Hysterectomy. I then got on my computer looking and looking for help I seen my doc on june9th and she scheduled me for the Da Vinci on the 9th of july so I had to find help soon and I can across this website and It was the best thing that ever happened to me not only did it have helpful links and info but women that been through it or those that was going to and felt like me. I stayed on here everyday till my surgery trying to prepare. well the day of my surgery was a nervous on my hubby and I went together and they quickly got me outta my clothes and into a gown I had to get 2 iv's and they did my blood pressure and temp the anesthesia specialist came and ask a bunch of questions and then my surgeon came in and she talked to me then they wheeled me off to the O.R. I dont remember much after that but when I woke up I was in a lil pain not alot and my nurse was putting pain meds in my iv I was in the hospital 1 day.
When I came home I had painful gas but nothing a lil walking did not help I am 1 week post op and I am great I am still sore and I am constipated from the pain meds but my stool softeners help and I walk to and from the store the hardest part to me is not being able to pick up my daughter when she cries or cook a meal because lord knows hubby dont know how to or dance with my 7yr old when she comes from ballet, but i have god helpers i have 4 incisions and at 1st they wanted to to change the gauze and since i couldnt to it well my 7yr old and hubby would help. I havent bleed since surgery yay!!! I think that I this is the best thing that I have done health wise I Just wanted to come back and tell you guys how i feel i hope that those n my situation have a great turn out like it did and again thanks for all the love and support through all my trials and tribulations
Tamika
