Hi all...I am 34 years old (soon to be 35). I started my cycles at age 12 and would miss school due to severe pain, nauseousness, and black outs. When I was 18 I started to go to the gyn and have yearlies. I was told that I had cervical erosion...and it was watched. Then, I had a cervical polyp...All before I was married. After I married and had our son, I continued to have bad pain. She said it was endometriosis (no lap was done) Things continued to get worse and my cycles would be off (I was regular as all get out) I had paps done and they went from abnormal, to ASCUS (atypical cells of unknown significance), to dysplasia, to finally cancer...I finally was told I needed a hysterectomy. I was actually glad for it. I had it done Oct 14th and she took everything except my right ovary. My left one was full of endo. She cauterized my endo. My pathology report showed that my cancer is all gone. My recovery has been a bit difficult. I have Myasthenia Gravis also and this has been a bit hard on me. I wasn't expecting to be in as much pain as I have been. I have also spotted since day one. I am only 9 days out. I haven't had any menopause symptoms and emotionally I feel no different. I guess that's because I kept one ovary. I am resting and taking it easy so I can heal. I am looking forward to living a life that is less painful and CANCER FREE. Just have to get through these weeks of recovery...
