Amazing! Simply Amazing! This is not our mother's hyster!!
We were at the hospital Wed June 15th at 6 am and ready for the Dr to begin at 7:30. The wonderful nurse put an IV in each arm, leg massagers on my calves, gave me a cute little teddy bear and we were off. I had a cathater but don't remember it because they put it in and took it out all while I was asleep. The post op nurse was also wonderful and stayed with me the whole time. Between her and hubby, I was very well taken care of. Once I could pee, I was closer to going home so I got up and tried and with the help of running water, I pee'ed blue - which was as it should be - to check that my bladder had not been nicked during surgery. The nurse kept telling me how well I was doing and that she expected me to be dancing in the halls soon. Then I had my 1st Percocit while the nurse watched how I did with it. Goofy in my head and some quezziness but the pain was still not bad - just didn't want it to be. By 3:30 that same afternoon, I was home in my own bed. My stomach muscels now felt like I had done way too many sit ups. I'm now "hollow" - the Dr took out everything - and called the next day to check on me and tell me the over size of my dumb uterus - about 5 times bigger than it should be because of the calsified fibroids. Thursday afternoon the sore stomach muscels were now more like I'd been kicked in the stomach - but stuff had happened there and considering all that, very understandable. That night was the last of that percocit junk - even a 1/2 pill at night was pretty icky. Advil is much better. By Friday I was walking around Lowe's with hubby & hanging in the back yard while he did chores. Saturday it was walking around the grocery store & watching more chores and friends came over Sat & Sun. Advil has decreased & I find an old back support turned backwords feels good as support to my tummy

Looking back - not knowing what to except was the worst part! Once I considered it to be a normal trip to my doctor - who I trust and admire, I stopped thinking of all the bad things and what could happen - it was all good! I wish everyone all the amazing-ness that I had!
