I had my surgery Tuesday May 30th. I had a total hysterectomy (removal of ovaries etc...) Not sure the \"proper\" term for it. I was at the hospital by 5 am, taken into surgery at 8 am, in a room by 11 am. Pumping the Demerol like crazy, but not for the surgical pain but for a severe back ache. I was up sitting in a chair by 8 pm the night of my surgery. Awoke the next morning, got a shower, washed my hair, took a tour around the hospital floor I was staying on.(Nursery floor at that!). Next day went pretty smooth not big problems except for the back ache. Took several tours around the floor. I was released from the hospital on the second day following surgery (Thursday). I came home a washed some dishes much to the displeasure of my husband but I felt it was something I needed to do if nothing but prove it to myself that I could do it. Tomorrow, June 13th, will be my 2 week anniversary, and I feel pretty good. Only pain I\'m having is on the left side of my incision where I have a knot of sorts, where I was told my \"muscles\" were binded back together. Other than that I don\'t feel as if I\'ve had surgery at all, I do pretty much anything I want to do, except for vacuum the floors, I haven\'t gotten that brave just yet. Incision has healed beautifully, staples have been out a week now. Best Of Luck to anyone facing a hysterectomy. :-)
