How many weeks after surgery should you wait before resuming this. My doctor said I can return to normal activity but I don't think I'm ready physically.

Reply by Amie Napier, MD

Most doctors recommend at least 6-8 weeks, I tell my patients that it is kind of like after giving birth - go slow and use lots of lube (Astroglide is great)!

The responses in the "Ask a Doctor" articles are provided by M.D./Surgeons with credentials in their linked profiles. The HysterSisters.com staff thanks the doctors for their participation and reminds all readers to discuss their medical concerns with their personal physicians for specific information about their health choices, as this is in no way intended to take the place of members consulting with their own physicians.
