With a family history of ovarian cancer and a uterus 5 times bigger than it should have been, I decided in the spring to take the plunge on July 18. My doctor discovered upon beginning the procedure that it would have to be a TAH (which we knew was a possibility). He also repaired an umbilical hernia while he was at it!

I was extremely lucky with the care I received and the fact that I've felt much better than I expected. I've had to use very little pain medication overall. Today I had my staples removed. I've been out for short trips a few times and have been driving with no problems. I'm a teacher and only have about 3 weeks until I have to report back to school. I don't know yet what the doctor will decide about all of that, but if things continue to go as well as they have, I hope it won't be a huge problem. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
