Hi! I had my surgery on Friday December 7th. The technology today is amazing and I am very happy with my out come. My surgery took 4 hours for a partial hysterectomy. I have never had a child and very small inside. The uterus was a challenge for my surgeon but she was able to remove the uterus through the vagina without having to cut me. I had the scope with the procedure and only have 3 small marks on my stomach. The pain was nothing that I thought it would be. I took alot of deep breaths and tried to sit up and get the blood flow moving. I also drank as much fluids allowed. The ice chips for the first day really helped me get through the day and night. The ice chips seemed to sooth me alot. The first time I stood up and walked I was so surprise on how easy it was to move around. I was on the morphine pump but found it only made me more sick to my stomach than to have the tylenol 3. To switch over from the morphine was very easy to tyleno 3's. I also had the challenge of many stairs to reach my bathroom and once again I took my time and have been able to go up and down with no problems. Today I am alone taking care of myself and it is possible to be on your own. Thank you for all the information posted on this site. My biggest tips I found that helped me through my first 2 days was to make sure to keep taking deeps breaths and also when you situp and stand up for the first time to situp straight and stand up straight and stretch and not to lean over. Drink as much liquids as possible. Good Luck
