Hi!! My name is Traci. I am honored to be a part of the Hostess Team here on HysterSisters!! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I live in Shenandoah, Iowa, a small town in the very southwestern corner of the state. I have been married to my best friend since 2008. I have one step-son who is pretty much our entire world.

I love animals and my house shows it. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs that are, what I like to call, my babies. They are all spoiled rotten.

I love being outdoors. Camping is one of my favorite things to do. We camp almost every weekend when the wonderful Iowa weather permits it!! I also LOVE football!! I spend my Saturday's and Sunday's in front of the TV cheering on my favorite teams!!

I work as a legal assistant. It's a pretty exciting job and I love that I get to help people everyday.

Now some history on what brought me to HysterSisters...
I have always had painful and very heavy periods. I started late and always thought maybe that was my payback for only having one period from age 14 to 18.
The pain got worse over the years, to the point that I was missing work and basically planning my entire life around my periods. I decided in 2011 to try to find out what was wrong.

I have a wonderful doctor that actually listened to my symptoms and knew right away what it was. I was officially diagnosed with Stage IV Endometriosis in March of 2011. My organs were a mess and the endo was everywhere, so I had some decisions to make.

I ended up deciding to go forward with a TAH/BSO with excision of the endo in May of 2011.

I visited the site almost daily during my pre-op stage and it helped me so much. I cannot even put into words how much it means to me. After my surgery, I knew that I had to give back. After receiving so much help, how could I NOT come back and help those on the same journey? So, that's what I do...try to help those who are going through it after me.

I love the support system we have here. It is unlike anything I have every known. I know we all have our girlfriends and other females in our everyday lives to talk to about this, but it is just not the same as the "Sisterhood" we have here! It is truly amazing and I honestly don't know what I would have done without it!!
