Ask A Doctor
I am 63 and postmenapausal. Uterine biopsy showed specimen A endocervix curettage cervical squamous epithelium showing squamous atypia. Specimen B endometrial no hyperplasia or malignancy. Still having left cramp 4 to 15 times a day. Ultrasound could not see left ovary because of excessive gas. This worries me because of ovarian cancer. Masses of Large fibroids. Enlarged uterus, thickened endometrium. What to do next?
Reply by Geoffrey Cly, MD
I can see why you are not sure what to do next. There are multiple conditions mentioned in your post.
I am suspecting the uterine biopsy was done because of post menopausal bleeding, if that is the case AND you also have "masses of large fibroids, enlarged uterus, thickened endometrium, cervical squamous atypia, and left sided cramps then I would recommend talking with your doctor about surgery.
A minimally invasive or daVinci Robotic procedure is very possibly an excellent choice for you, but without knowing your full history, I would defer that decision to your doctor.
I hope this helps.
