Ask A Doctor

I had surgery which consisted of: TVH (uterus & cervix), A & P colorrhaphy, bladder suspension, cystocopy, TVT, and excision of B/L labia minora. 1. I was wondering is it normal for my labia on one side to have swelling and not the other side? How long until the swelling goes down? It's also very itchy. 2. I hardly walk 5-10 min a day, and I get pressure in pelvic area and bleeding. Should I push myself to walk a set amount of minutes? 3. How long is it going to be until I can get back to normal function? My back is really starting to hurt just laying here.

As a Doctor who does procedures similar to what you listed above, I must say this, "Please call your doctor and let them know your symptoms". I would recommend having your doctor examine you as well to evaluate your symptoms properly.

Hope this helps.
