Will I go into menopause, including hot flashes, if I have one ovary saved?

Hello Susan,

A normally functioning ovary will produce enough hormones to support the body's hormonal needs, from producing eggs for and through pregnancy, or providing hormones at other times in life. A single ovary will continue to function until it's natural menopause.

Sometimes hot flashes can occur after a surgery because the surgery occurred near the ovary and the healing process my decrease its hormone production temporarily. This usually only occurs during the recovery period.
