Ask A Doctor
I am about 10 weeks post-op and have had two silver nitrate treatments, one at six weeks, one at eight weeks. I've been feeling pretty good lately with the exception of a pinchy, crampy feeling way up high in the vaginal wall. It feels like it's above where I can flex the muscle inside (kegal?), on the right hand side only. Both silver nitrate treatments were focused in that particular area. Today I called the doctor's office to let him know what I was experiencing, and he wants to see me tomorrow morning. He told me that he wanted me to take 800mg of Motrin when I wake up, and he may have to give me a shot in the vagina. My question is, what is it that he would be shooting in there? I was trying to search online today, and I was reading about kegal shots and how women were worried about getting them because of the risk of loosing their orgasm. Is this something to worry about if that is what my doctor suggests? I don't know what to ask him, and I'm nervous. Maybe it'll be nothing, but I want to be prepared ahead of time with questions. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!

From your description he could be considering a "numbing" injection with lidocaine or marcaine or other anesthetic medicine. Sometimes we will add a steroid component also, depends on the clinical situation.
I have given these types of injections for various reasons, and they are usually successful in relieving the symptoms.
In this case, neither will affect your orgasm.
