I have one week to go and I am freaking out! I have so much to do and I cannot even get anything done because I feel so discombobulated! I wanted to get my house all clean this weekend and did I? NO! I wanted to do the heavy duty stuff but I have no energy and I am just so stressed and crampy and kind of crabby. And now I just started worrying that maybe it's not all my hormonal and gynecological problems; maybe I am just a crabby person. I am a total stress-burger waiting for this, and now I started thinking that if I get menopausal afterwards I'll be worse. Did anyone else get this freaked beforehand, or am I just off my rocker?
Welcome to the one-week before surgery stress out club! We have all been there and it is quite normal. You will never get the house as cleaned as you would like. You will never complete all the errands you want to get done. You will never feel like you have accomplished everything that you needed to prior to your surgery. And do you want to know something? Life will still go on! The world will not fall to pieces. Please don’t let this stress you out.
A well-rested Princess heals faster. Take this next week to do things for yourself: possibly a night out at the movies (no theatre chairs for awhile after surgery) or getting a manicure. Hire a cleaning crew to come clean your house the day before you come home from the hospital.
Your HysterSisters are going to send you loads of sleepy sand, warm wishes, and the best of luck, to calm the nerves and ease the mind. Soon you'll be on the other side, on the road to recovery!
