Has anyone had just odd bladder sensations post-op? This really doesn't feel like an infection, but just like my bladder is on alert somehow. The sensations vary from annoying to painful when I empty my bladder.
It is not uncommon for the bladder to develop spasms post-op and range from feelings of the bladder being asleep and not willing to empty to pain during urination. Some women describe other bladder sensations that sound similar to a bladder infection.
Usually this is the bladder acting quirky from the surgical shock.
If your bladder spasms are painful and not decreasing in frequency, call your doctor. A medication can be prescribed to help stop the bladder spasms.
Of course, getting a urinary tract infection post-op isn't uncommon either.
When in doubt, call your doctor's office and ask the nurse.
